BRIGHTON

Tuesday, 6 December 2016

Brighton is just the most beautiful place, I’m totally and utterly head over heals for it. This is the second time that we’ve travelled to Brighton and it most definitely won't be our last. It was very different from last time we went but still just as perfect! Since we went in August we decided to give winter a try and it was just incredible...especially the christmas lights!
We stayed in the same lovely AirBnB with the same wonderful family, Ian, Pip and their two children Alix and Isla. Next year were hoping to stay in Brighton for a whole week and experience pride festival - which were so excited for!

Brighton town itself is bursting full of tiny shops, gorge cafes and restaurants and more ice cream than you could ever imagine. Basically, the most dreamy place in England…ever.
It was beautiful weather while we were down there, incredibly sunny and not too cold but cold enough so you can wrap up in warm cosy clothes, the best weather, right?

We had the most glorious time and have all come back home feeling super refreshed and even more ready for next time!

Lots of love, Alice and Nia xoxo

Brighton

Monday, 22 August 2016

Welcome back to our blog!

Brighton has always been on my ‘go to’ list of places and a few weeks ago we finally ventured over there. It was good to be there and be able to adventure around the place. Brighton is around 4 hours away from our hometown,  so it was a little road trip, which was filled with laugher. We stayed in an AirBnB, which was a lovely house, located just outside the town, with a good 25-30 minute walk. It was super relaxing and stress-free being located somewhere so peaceful and quiet. one of my favourite things about our trip was waking up to the sound of the seagulls and the smell of the sea air.

Unfortunately we only planned to stay for 3 days, two nights but we managed to squeeze a lot in! the first day was mainly just exploring the town and finding where everything was. We went down the lanes, on the beach, to the beach huts and onto the pier. We arrived at about 10am, and after going down and one way street, a bus and taxi only street and entering an exit, we finally arrived!

On our second day we ventured out again, however this day was very special, but we will get to that. We were up and out the house by 10am and this day was just a chilled day taking photos for both our blog and Kellie's blog. We spent a good two hours around the beach huts - a great place for taking pictures and chilling. Another one of our favourite places was the bandstand. Anyway, getting to the exciting part..later on in the day, around dinner time we made our way up to the marina, somewhere Ian and Pip (the couple we stayed with), had suggested to us. About 30 minutes of being there and taking picture we bumped into the one and only Alfie Deyes (pointlessblog), Sean o'Connor, Chai Cameron and their friend. They were by far the politest, nicest people ever and we had a good laugh with them. We then headed to the beach and had a slush, then made our way to the lanes, where, believe it or not, we bumped into Alfie again, this time he was with Marcus Butler.

Our last day we spent chilling and again, down the lanes. One of my favourite 'shops' down there was a photo shop called photomanic, it has two booths, one black and white and one colour and table full of props so you can make your photos funky and bubbly. I would defiantly advice you to go there if you happen to be in Brighton, the owner of the shop was a lovely man, he was ever so kind. Lets not forget that we were also on TV! When relaxing in a lovely park we were asked if we could participate in a Dance documentary, no, we didn't have to dance haha! We just had to sit, watch and look pretty. The trip ended with a fun 4 hour journey back home.

Brighton is by far my favourite place to visit. Where's yours?

If you're thinking about venturing to Brighton, i would 100% advise you to stay at the same place as we did. Ian, Pip and their adorable two kids Isla and Alix are the nicest, friendliest people you could dream of staying with, they treated us as if they knew us and like we were grown ups. We are back!

Thursday, 7 July 2016

Hey guys,

We are sorry that we have not posted a lot recently we have been very busy with different things such as coming to the end of college so getting all of our work in, organising trips, getting on top of our YouTube channel and working. However as it is summer now we are wanting to spend some time getting posts posted on more of a weekly basis that you guys will enjoy. As well as creating these posts we are also putting a lot of work into our YouTube channel so would love it if you could check it out and give us some support. Especially as we are still quite new to it we are wanting to make videos that's interesting to our viewers and different to others. Although we are quite new to YouTube it is something that we have been planning for a long time and even started filming before we uploaded our first one.

Having said a little bit about YouTube we feel that we have not really introduced it on here. Our aim for our channel is to produce content that can be enjoyed by a range of people and we are wanting it to be different to other people so that it is not the same and boring for people to watch. The different kind of videos that we are wanting to have on our channel are beauty, vlogs, hauls, baking videos, Q&A's, collaborations with other youtubers and look books. But if there are any particular videos that any of you would like to see we are up for any suggestions and it would be nice to talk to some of you and get to know you more. Although YouTube has been on our minds for a couple of years it has always been something that we have held back on. The main reason for this is because we were worried what people were going to say as they can be quite cruel and judgemental about it. But since being in college it has made us realise who are real friends are, therefore it has made us see that if they are real then they will support us and our decisions. Also since growing up it has made us a lot more confident and learn to ignore what others say, as people are always going to say upsetting things about you. But what is important is making sure that you do something that you enjoy and have the people around you that are positive about the things that you do and the decisions that you make. If you would like to check out our videos the link for our YouTube is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcbET9TgeEZRk_HJBf_GJ9A

In the summer we have some very exciting things happening as we are going away for a little trip together and with our very good friend Kellie. She also has a Blog and a YouTube channel so it would mean a lot if you would support her too. Her YouTube channel is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCMMW-4oUjJ2eTky_1Ddvhw and her Blog is: http://kellieneeblog.blogspot.co.uk/
While we are away we are hoping to take plenty of pictures for blog posts and also get content for different videos to go up on our channel.

We are very excited about all of our plans that we have coming up and we hope that you are all going to be there to follow our journey and support us. If any of you reading this have a YouTube channel let us know as we would love to find more channels to watch and support you through your journey too. We think it will also be nice to get to know people that have the same interests and intentions as us. We should hopefully be a lot more active on here and hopefully create posts that you will enjoy reading.

Thank you for all the support you give us whether that is reading a blog post or watching our videos. It means a lot to us and makes us so incredibly happy!

See you in our next post, Alice and Nia xoxo

New beauty products

Wednesday, 8 June 2016

Hey guys,

In today's blog post we thought it was a good idea to show you some new beauty products we have bought. We were going to do a video of it on our YouTube channel but there wasn't enough products that would make a decent video for you all. For that reason we thought it would be better to make a blog post on it. They are all drugstore products so they are all affordable but are also good quality.

The first product we are going to talk about is the 'W7 In The Nude' pallet. One of the beauty products we both really like is eye shadow. This pallet consists of colours from nudes to golds, they are highly pigmented and are long lasting. We found that when we were using this pallet there are so many different ways that you can use the colours so that you can produce different looks. If you have seen the 'Naked 3 pallet' and really like the colours but feel like it is out of your price range then this is a perfect dupe. When I bough this pallet it was £5.99 as we got it from an outlet store. But even when it is full price we feel that it is a really affordable eye pallet and is worth every penny. When we saw these colours we thought that it was perfect to wear in the summer as they are light colours that go perfectly with the pastel colours of clothes that come out in season.

The next product that we will be talking about is the 'W7 Mega Matte Lips'. When we saw this we instantly fall in love as we always finding ourselves buying lipsticks, especially matte ones. And recently we have been looking at matte liquid lipsticks, this is since Kylie Jenna has released her lipsticks. However as much as we liked the look of them they weren't in our price range especially as we like in the UK so have to pay for shipping too. Therefore when we saw this we felt we needed to try it out. Since we have got this we have both not stopped using them. The colour is high intensity and has great pigmentation. When we applied it to the lips we found that it has a creamy texture and was not drying at all. After wearing this for a long time we found that it felt light and moisturising on our lips. The colour that we got was 'Two Bob', but there are more colours to get and for sure we will be going back to get some more. This product is defiantly affordable as we got it for £1.99 but again we got this from an outlet store where the prices have a discount. However looking at the price of the product is still very affordable and worth the price!

The last beauty product we will talk about is the 'Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water' in400ml. We both had this cleansing water before by in the travel size but really like how it took off our makeup and how it made our skin feel after. For this reason we made sure that we got the 400ml one. Both of us have quite sensitive skin so after trying so many different beauty products it is so good to finally find something that is kind to our skin. We have also found that there are some makeup removing products that do not fee like all of our makeup has been removed. But when using this product we felt the complete opposite, we found that just using a little bit went so far and was very effective. Another thing that we loved about his product is that it is perfect to use to take off lipstick, eyes and face makeup. This was very useful for us both and makes it a lot easier when staying somewhere else other than home. This is because there is no need to bring anything else so makes it easier carrying things. This also is an affordable product and we got it for £3.49 from the beauty outlet. Just like the other beauty products we would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Let us know if you have any beauty recommendations for us that you have recently bought, or ones that you have been using for ages and love. We would love to hear from you.

Effortless & Natural DIOR make-up

Sunday, 15 May 2016

I have been an avid reader of beauty blogs since the age of fourteen - back when the term "blogger" wasn't really even a 'thing' - and i love trying out new beauty products. With an ethos built around enhancing your natural beauty with minimum effort and a dedication to creating premium makeup infused with skin-loving ingredients, DIOR has earned its stripes as my go-to brand when I want an easy, fuss-free look that makes me look like a more well-rested, sophisticated and chicer version of myself in a flash. The Air Flash Spray On DIOR foundation, is so easy to apply. With just one spray and dab using your beauty blender, Air Flash can have you and your skin looking, healthy and flawless in seconds.

The DIOR Backstage Pros product line appears at every DIOR runway show and every DIOR shoot. The Fix It indispensable primer and concealer for three zones of the face (complexion, eyes and lips), is fabulous.
i would definitely recommend these DIOR products to anyone. They are absolutely flawless and fuss-free!
Let me know if you have any favourites from DIOR. I'd be more than happy to hear them!

Birthday/ Easter Cake

Thursday, 31 March 2016

Hey guys,

So last week it was Nia's birthday so we decided to make a birthday cake together to celebrate. This cake that we made can be made for Easter or any occasion near this time. It is a super easy but fun cake to make and when it is done it looks so effective. We both love baking so we thought it was a great opportunity to make the most having an excuse to do some baking. We try to make birthday cakes every year for our birthday so it has now become a tradition rather than buying one from the shop. Therefore we thought it would be nice this year to share it with you.

Ingredients for the Victoria Sandwich:
100g Margarine
100g Caster Sugar
2 Medium Eggs
100g Self Raising Flour
A couple of drops of Vanilla Extract

Ingredients for the butter icing:
100g Margarine
200g Sieved Icing Sugar
Two table spoons of Milk
A couple of drops of Vanilla Extract

Strawberry or Raspberry Jam

3 bags of Cadbury Mini Eggs
1 packet of Milk Chocolate Fingers
1 packet of White Chocolate Fingers

Method
Preheat the oven to 180oC, 350oF or Gas Mark 4
Grease an 18cm sandwich tin- so that the cake does not stick to the tin once it is cooked
In a bowl cream the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding a little bit of the sieved flour with each
Gently fold in the rest of the sieved flour
Add a couple of drops of vanilla extract
Place this mixture into the prepared tins and bake for 20-25 minutes in 2 tins or 40-45 minutes in one tin
When the cake has finished cooking pierce it with a knife or a cake tester to check that it has been fully cooked, this can be seen if no mixture is transferred onto the utensil

While the sponge is cooling prepare the butter icing to go inside and around the sponge
Cream the margarine and the sieved icing sugar together
Add two table spoons of milk
Add a couple of vanilla extract into the icing to give it some flavour

If the sponge is cooked in one tin then once it is cool take it out of the tin and cut it in the middle to that there are two halves of the sponge to make the Victoria sandwich.
Once the two parts of the sponges are cool add jam onto one half then add butter icing onto the other side
Once this was done put these sides together to make the sandwich
With the rest of the butter icing add this around the sandwich and to the top of it
After all of the butter icing is added to the cake cut the chocolate fingers in half so that they suit the size of the cake. Once they are cut add these chocolate fingers using alternate colours
After add the mini eggs to the top of the cake so that they are in circles that work into the middle of the cake

We hope that you are able to try to make this cake and enjoy making and eating it as much as we did, enjoy!

Party

Tuesday, 1 March 2016

Last night we went to our friends 18th birthday party which was held in a club called The Venue in our home town. As you can tell from the photos it was a fancy dress party and we decided (of course) to go as Disney characters. I went as Minnie Mouse and Nia went as Snow White. Unfortunately we were the youngest ones at the party so we didn't get served - we had an amazing night though! For the whole party look we both decided to go for a natural kind of make-up look.

For my look i used the Dior Forever foundation - which is one of my favourites - and used the Dior Backstage Pro Fix It concealer. For my brows i used the Mac eyebrow pencil in shade Spiked. Moving on to the eyes, i used my They're Real mascara by Benefit, Maybelline Master Precise Eye Liner and Soap and Glory's Perfect 10 eye palette. To finish off the look i used my Rimmel Starry Eyed Lipstick.

For my look I used Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Foundation in the shade nude, in the same shade I used Barry M concealer. I also used a lighter shade of comcealer which was Ivory Barry M this was so that I could hide my dark circles. To set this look I used collection pressed powder in transparent, I used Maybelline Face Master sculpt in light/medium, Soap and Glory Love At First Blush. Then for my eyes I used Clinique High Impact Mascara, Maybelline Master Precise Eye Liner and Soap and Glory's Perfect 10 eye palette. To finish it off I used a Pure Colour Rich Red Lip Liner (found in our previous blog post) and Miss Sporty's High Red lipstick.

Lip liners

Sunday, 24 January 2016

Hey guys,

We really like looking at different makeup products of what are new and what other people recommend to use. So recently we got some new lip liners to try out. They weren't from a drugstore as we bought them from Newlook. Within the last year Newlook have brought out their new makeup range. This includes, foundation, concealer, powder, eyebrow pencils, nail polish, lip gloss, lip stick and lip liners. As they aren't from a drugstore and a normal brand that we get we were a bit weary about this purchase. But they were worth it. They are long lasting, easy to use and look good once they are on. The makeup from Newlook are a really good price and although we like to stick with the same foundation and powder that we are used to. The other products are really worth buying.

The packaging that all of the makeup products come in look really nice. We feel that they have used nice colours and they look really smart. When using these lip liners they are very easy to apply to the lip and comfortable to hold. The colours that we got were camel and rich red. We found that these were the most suitable colours to buy as these are the colours that we tend to wear a lot of.

The price of these lip liners were very good as they were £1.99. We personally feel that they were as good as a normal drug store product especially as they had a good consistency.
In some of the next pictures we have put the lip liners with some of the lipsticks that we feel they will go the best with. But we felt that when we used these lip liners they were easily blended into any shade of the colour that they were used with.

We will put the links of these lip liners and lipsticks that have been used in these images. We hope that you have enjoyed this blog post and are able to try some of them.

The nude lipstick is in a new collection that can be found in BHS but unfortunately we cannot find a link for it.

Sacconejoly Meetup

Friday, 15 January 2016

Hey guys!

We thought that we would let you know about one of our favourite moments in 2015! The Sacconejolys held a meet up in Roundhay park, Leeds, and we were very fortunate to be able to receive a ticket to meet both Anna and Jonathan. Both of us went to this meet up with our friend Kellie (as you will see in the pictures). The money for these tickets went to the RSPCA to help other dogs that need it. This was  charity that they have worked alongside with a lot as they have 6 dogs and have a huge passion for them. None of the money that was raised went to their needs or to their family and they met everyone, that was lucky enough to go, from their passion for their job.

Both of us have an interest in YouTube and watching youtubers with their videos. Both Anna and Jonathan have separate YouTube channels where they upload videos that they are interested in. On Anna's channel she uploads a range of videos including: Q & A's, Hauls, 'What I ate Wednesday' vlogs, Mummy vlogs, makeup tutorials, lookbooks and more. She also does baking videos with both Emilia and Eduardo on her channel but she has also been involved in Mums eye view's YouTube channel. Whereas Jonathan's channel is very different to the videos that he uploads and has only just recently started uploading again. On his channel he uploads videos that he can have a bit of fun producing them. Within his videos there isn't much of a pattern with them but they are good videos to watch and have a laugh with. They also have a channel that is one for the whole family, on here they upload daily vlogs showing what they have done in that day. These videos are heart warming, fun videos to watch and they will defiantly put a smile on your face. No matter when these vlogs are watched they will be able to make your day so much better.

The Sacconejoly's are a family of four from Ireland, just under two years they have moved to the UK to start their adventures here as a family. Anna and Jonathan have two children; Emilia who is 3 years old and Eduardo who is 1. They also have six Maltese dogs called: Albi, Sina, Theo, Bianca, Nivea and Nuvola. Family is a big part to their lives and making other people happy is what they aim to do. This can be trough organising meet ups, through their daily vlogs or just their videos that they post on YouTube. To everything there are always some people that turn positive things negatively. But what is amazing is that both Anna and Jonathan turn it around and don't let it effect them in life.

From the both of us having watched the Sacconejolys for a long time it has been lovely seeing Emilia and Eduardo growing up, all the adventures that they have been on and the people that they are with. Therefore for this reason when we went to the meet up we was quite excited to meet Francesca. This is because when Anna and Jonathan have these ideas for exciting projects Francesca is the one to help them to achieve this.

On the evening of the meet up and a couple of days after little things happened that was so exciting. Some people might feel that it is nothing but to us it was very surreal as they are people that we have been following for such a long time. We were very lucky for Francesca to upload an image of us on her Instagram, Jonathan and Francesca favourited our tweets and we were in their vlog! In the vlog is shows us having a conversation with them both about the t-shirts that we created. We thought it would be good for the three of us to create a t-shirt because it gave us something to remember the day for but we also thought it would be something different to other people. We created the t-shirt by printing the images off that we wanted and using iron on transfers. We then added 'Friendliest Friends' out name and 'Pizza Party Friday Night'. This was because they are sayings that they say on their videos and we also thought it would make out t-shirts individual from having our name on them.  Although we were only in the vlog for a few seconds, it is so good to have something to look back on of that day.

If anyone ever gets the chance to meet them go for it without hesitation because honestly they are one of the nicest, down to earth people that we have ever met. One of the things that stood out the most for us was that when we met them they were interested in having a conversation with us rather than having a picture and moving onto the next person. And believe us we are doing anything for us to be able to meet them again the future!

We will put some links down below of both their personal YouTube channels, they family YouTube channel, their instagrams (including Francesca) and the YouTube video that we were included in. We hope that you are able to have a look at these links and maybe even watch some of their videos.
